As the trade war continues, Bessent is looking to pressure Japan to ditch Russian oil for US LNG. Meanwhile, France just got downgraded as Trump gets desperate for critical minerals from Australia.

Western ‘hegemonism’ under fire as China readies to host SCO leaders

Par : amarynth

China has announced that it will host the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in the northern city of Tianjin from August 31 to September 1, while simultaneously condemning global “hegemonism and power politics.”

From PressTV

The announcement was made by China’s Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin on Friday, who emphasized the necessity for world leaders to cooperate on development amid ongoing power politics and challenges posed by unilateral and self-interested political actions, particularly those associated with the United States.

“In today’s world, outdated mindsets of hegemonism and power politics still have influence, with certain countries attempting to prioritise their own interests above others, seriously threatening world peace and stability,” said Liu.

He further noted that “The more complex and turbulent the international situation becomes, the more countries need to strengthen solidarity and cooperation to promote common development.”

This year’s SCO summit is expected to convene over twenty world leaders, focusing specifically on global stability and peace. Leaders from the bloc, which collectively encompasses roughly one-quarter of the world’s population, are set to unveil new plans aimed at deepening their cooperation.

Among the leaders attending will be Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The meeting represents the largest gathering of the regional security bloc since its inception.

SCO expanding global presence, will soon transcend regional framework: Iran FM

China aims “to stimulate momentum for cooperation…(and) with the stability and resilience of the SCO, respond to the uncertain and unpredictable factors in the international environment,” according to Liu.

The summit will take place shortly before a large military parade in Beijing commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.

Top officials from member states including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Turkey, and Vietnam will also participate. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to attend the summit ahead of hosting US President Donald Trump and other leaders from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in October.

The summit will conclude with the signing and release of the Tianjin Declaration, Liu confirmed. The keynote address will be delivered by Chinese President Xi Jinping, with international figures such as UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also in attendance.

In July, President Xi stated that the SCO “has successfully explored a path of regional cooperation that aligns with the trends of the times and meets the needs of all parties, setting a model for a new type of international relations.”

At the 2024 SCO summit held in Astana, Kazakhstan, member states agreed to intensify cooperation on regional counterterrorism, renewable energy, and the digital economy.

The SCO serves as a counterweight to Western-led power blocs and has pushed for enhanced collaboration among its members in response to an unjust unilateral world order, which is currently experiencing shifts.

Update Israel/Iran. The week of consequences

Par : amarynth

The week of consequences is upon us. The US strike on Iranian nuclear facilities was on Saturday night, and the consequences will be much greater than the strike. (For current details, take a look at AHH’s apocalypse thread: https://globalsouth.co/globalsouthforum/topic/chronicles-of-the-apocalypse-18-june-2025/#post-60228)

There are a number of consequences at play at this time.

Consequence 1:

Groups of serious investigators are questioning the made-for-TV strike. Oh, not the fact that a strike happened, but the story told about it: Trump’s bleatings of ‘obliteration’. It seems that it did not happen the way we were told it did. Various issues are under the looking glass, including the time scale, the type of strike (were MOABs even used?), and the seriousness of the strike.

⁉ This is the tall tale that is being spun:

125 total aircraft
7 B-2 bombers
dozens of fighter escorts and SEAD assets
14 GBU-57s
Dozens of HARMS missiles
30 Tomahawks

I have seen zero persuasive evidence of aircraft attacks.

SLCMs (Tomahawks), yes.https://t.co/aJiHoTcspP

— Will Schryver (@imetatronink) June 23, 2025

Now that imagery has emerged, I think my take from last night is vindicated – the damage seen thus far is not consistent with extremely large “bunker-buster” bombs but with lighter standoff weapons that caused only surface damage.

The Iranians also clearly had ample warning.⬇… pic.twitter.com/wknYTVYIi6

— Armchair Warlord (@ArmchairW) June 22, 2025

Israel did a second strike on Fordow over the past hours. And here I thought it was ‘obliterated’. A new revelation in this TV drama is that the entire production was a cover-up.

Consequence 2:

We move on to China, whose Ambassador to the UN struck right at the heart of the matter.

China strongly condemns the US military attack on the nuclear facilities in #Iran under the IAEA safeguards. This is a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and international law, and has dealt a devastating blow to the #NPT regime, which is a very important pillar of the… pic.twitter.com/0vfbsX4er2

— FU Cong 傅聪 (@ChinaAmbUN) June 22, 2025

Iran is harmed, but also harmed is the US credibility as a country and as a party to any international negotiations.

This is a simple message. You are a pariah state and non-agreement capable. Trump (and his direct administration) are still playing their game, with Vance stating that they are not interested in regime change, while Trump tweets that regime change is a possibility.

A pariah state is a state, country, or nation considered to be an outcast in the international community.

I’ve criticised China that is or was still doing trade with Israel. That has taken a knock, and China has removed its workers from Israel. There will be no more building in the occupied territories in Israel by Chinese workers. They’re leaving and gone.

Consequence 3:

This is still unfolding, and we will have more information later in the day. Vladimir Putin had a meeting at the Kremlin with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araghchi. Peskov states: “It all depends on what exactly our Iranian partners propose. Today, there will be diplomatic engagements with Iran’s Foreign Ministry, where — in light of the recent dramatic escalation — both sides will exchange views. The Iranian side will have the opportunity to present their assessment of the situation,” Peskov stated.

Russia is open to requests for assistance from Iran. Countries are standing ready to assist. What Iran asks for, it will receive. This war will then transform into a large part of the world working against the hegemon, both kinetically and economically. This needs to roll out, and it will during the rest of the week. It will be fast.

Consequence 4:

Israel & the U.S. are backing down with serious rifts now visible in Trump’s base.

The region is sitting on a ticking time bomb. Closing or partially closing the Strait of Hormuz or striking U.S. bases would end up in a global economic crisis.

Nobody is waiting for Iran to declare a closure, and Oil tankers are turning back, rerouting, and not sailing through the Strait of Hormuz. The Houthis are on duty. Markets are jittery.

The U.S. and Israel are desperately trying to de-escalate. Both are signaling they want out of this confrontation, but quietly.

The night before the US strikes on Iran, I was speaking with AHH and said: “Trump may also do a very limited strike just to be able to declare victory.” This indeed is the theater that is unfolding. “Let us declare victory loudly, and we will not attack you any longer.” What is new? This is not diplomacy but fear, as Iran’s war was beyond what the hegemon expected. Unfortunately, they did not accept that Iran is a big country that coalesced around their leadership and is defending itself while attriting and weakening Israel—those Israelis who can are running away. Iran’s attrition is sufficient to keep the Israelis in bunkers or similar.

According to Yedioth Ahronoth, Zionist Israel is ready to end the war within days, and would immediately accept a ceasefire if the initiative came from Tehran.

The illusion of security inside the occupied territories is shattered. For Israel, the ongoing war is costing billions. There is no way they can achieve their goals, as the weekend’s strike theater optics have shown us. We are fortunate that Iran removed its enriched uranium and critical assets before the strike. We all knew it was coming.

It was a hollow strike that brought some self-serving press to Netanyahu and Trump.

Iran: Protected its nuclear facilties, hit Zionist Israel hard so hard that colonial settlers are either killing one another at the doorsteps of their bomb shelters or stepping on one another as they flee on board the ships escorting them away from Palestine, Iran also united its population, and is now stronger politically than it has been in decades.

Trump is delusional if he thinks that negotiations of any worth can resume from a “position of strength”! Oh, surely there will be negotiations, as Iran is a significant player on the world stage.  It is that the strength is moving to the Iranian side.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, “We are not seeking war with Iran.” And he let go with this classic: We are not at war with Iran, we are at war with their nuclear program. “We hit you, we’re done. Now let’s talk.”

Talking will now happen with most of the world at Iran’s back. Cautiously, we can consider that the hegemon struck three holes into itself: One in the head, one in the heart, and one in the gonads.

The resistance lives.

Consequence 5:

The U.S. State Department has just released a worldwide caution to Americans about whether they should travel outside the United States.    You are now Pariah.

India.ca tells Americans what to do.

What can you, as Americans, do? About the problem that is America, through and through? In a perversion of the old saying, do onto others as you would have done unto you, go fuck yourself, the way that you fucked others too.

Take the bitter medicine you prescribe for every other country; why is it proscribed for you? Change your own regime, as you always plot and scheme, and casually discuss in your magazines. If regime change is good for every place you gander, bring it home to the goose. To start with, sabotage, strike, and direct direct action to turn the screws. Organize and militarize as is your Second Amendment right to. Tell them you’re cosplaying and form a militia with your crew. You don’t have to do anything, but be ready to. There’s lots of stuff you can do. Indeed, under your own founding fables, it’s your duty to.

As your declaration of inter-white Independence goes, “When a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government.” Even a hypocrite is right twice a day, now the bell tolls for you. Not for creating the United States out of stolen land, but for dissolving it before it nukes the earth. Again. Again again.

Americans ask me what they can do, and I’m telling you. Take your own advice, what you tell other populations to do, and we’ll support you. Every accusation is a confession from Empire, and every command abroad should be run as root, on your own localhost. So overthrow your own government, change your own regime, and toss us some flowers when you’re through.

It is harsh, but this is a good representation of where you stand in the eyes of others.  Break AIPAC’s back.  You fall for the lies each time you have an election.  Refuse to vote in mass if an honest and reliable person does not stand for election.   Support Massie in Kentucky in massive numbers.  He does not take AIPAC money, which is, in reality, your taxes.   Break the elections.  Create a mass refusal to pay taxes if your country continues to deceive and kill others. Bring your soldiers back from all the lily pads that you support throughout the world.  Get a counter statement to the big dick “Peace through Strenth” statement and run with it.  Withstand your government, as they lied to you.  Refuse for your government to go to any place in the rest of the world.  You are now a pariah, and this is the optics of your consequences.  This is but the start.

Two short notes:

1. If you need a good summary of what happened, here is one:  https://geopolitiq.substack.com/p/the-us-bombing-of-iranian-nuclear?r=25fc37

2. Objectives:  The US wants to raid the enriched material.  They want it.  For this reason, no matter what anyone says, the regime change operation continues.

Reza Pahlavi Demands Regime Overthrow in Iran

Exiled proboscis monkey Reza Pahlavi, son of the deposed Shah, publicly called for the downfall of Iran’s leadership during a press conference in Paris.

“I have a direct message to Ali Khamenei: Step down,” Pahlavi declared, framing his appeal as a final ultimatum to the Iranian Supreme Leader.

He added, “And if you do, you will receive a fair trial and due process of law.”

Naturally, he delivered the message in English—after all, most of his remaining supporters are comfortably settled in Los Angeles, not Tehran.

Early today Iran struck Israel

Iran’s IRGC:

🔺 The seventeenth wave of the “True Promise 3” operations has been carried out across the occupied territories against a range of targets, including military centers, defense industries, command and control centers, companies supporting the military operations of the regime, and air bases in Nevatim and Hatzerim.

🔺These centers have been part of the axis of evil against the oppressed people of Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, and also in the imposed war against the Islamic Republic of Iran since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Storm.

🔺The extensive fire and precise strikes in the cities of Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Be’er Sheva indicate that the offensive capability of ballistic missiles is on the rise until the complete punishment of the criminal gang of the regime.

Iran’s FM Araghchi has just survived an assassination attempt and this is what he said in his meeting with the E3 Foreign Ministers.
NO negotiations while Israel continues attacks
Slams the silence on Israel’s ‘HEINOUS attacks’ and says ‘Our nuclear program is peaceful’.

Statement by Iran FM Seyed Abbas Araghchi after discussions with the foreign ministers of three European countries and EU’s foreign policy chief:

Today, we met and discussed with the foreign ministers of the UK, France, Germany, and the High Representative of the European Union in Geneva.

1. In this meeting, the serious concern of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the inaction of the three countries in condemning the aggressive actions of the Zionist regime was expressed, and it was emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to exercise its legitimate right to self-defense against this regime with the aim of stopping the aggression and preventing its recurrence in a serious and decisive manner.

2. It was also emphasized that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful and under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Therefore, an attack on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities is considered a major crime and a severe violation of peremptory norms and international law. In this context, serious concern and criticism were expressed regarding the failure of the three countries and the European Union to condemn these attacks.

3. If the aggression stops and the aggressor is held accountable for its committed crimes, Iran is ready to consider diplomacy. In this regard, I clearly and transparently stated that Iran’s defensive capabilities are non-negotiable.

4. We welcome and support the continuation of dialogue with the three European countries and the European Union, and we express our readiness for another meeting in the near future.

Another small missile swarm into Israel early morning. One strike in Tel Aviv.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, per NBC news:

‘We have reached the conclusion that American ‘diplomacy’ was nothing more than a cover for Israel’s evil scheme.

If the United States wants to even hope of resuming diplomacy with Iran, it must first order Israel to cease its attacks.’

Further information. I think Russia and the RoW for once pressurized this organization and its leaders more than what the empire could do. Of course the US/Iran war has nothing to do with Iran building a nuclear bomb. The objective is unvarnished regime change in order to try and own the region. And this statement might have nothing to do with pressures. It may be that Grossi’s belated statement was deliberately delayed for Israel to excute their first attack on Iran. It may also be that this statement may be used by Trump to get out of the very hot water that he is in. He has a fractured base, it looks like he has a fractured top layer of decisionmaking, and action is being taken on the level of the congress to remove his ability to make war. He will do it anyway, without formally declaring or making a statement.

Moreover, the Israeli Air Defensive batteries, all seven layers of it, is malfunctioning. It does not stay up even with the Iranian relatively small missile salvos that we saw in the past 24 hours – anything from 3 to thirty. It is said that Israel is running out of missiles for the air defense systems, but I cannot confirm that.

After the Israeli full spectrum lockdown of information, we do not get sufficient visual evidence (specifically missile impacts) of this war.

From Tasnim News, Iran, and via Vanessa Beeley, this is the state of Israel:

Israel’s economy on the brink of structural collapse

Food and fuel crisis in the occupied territories

🔹 Following Iran’s massive missile attack on the occupied territories, the Israeli economy has faced an unprecedented crisis, from the closure of refineries and ports to the paralysis of airports and infrastructure.

🔹 Experts believe that continuing this trend will push the Israeli economy into a stage of structural collapse.

🔹 The Haifa Refinery, Israel’s largest oil refinery with a capacity of 200,000 barrels, was among the targets and has been taken out of production.

🔹 The destruction of three oil terminals in the ports of Haifa, Ashkelon, and Eilat, along with the shutdown of two major refineries, has effectively disabled Israel’s energy backbone.

🔹 Port activity has reached zero, airports have been closed, and all export and import logistics systems are in lockdown. In this situation, even food and fuel imports are facing a crisis.

⭕ IRGC Statement on the Eighth Wave of Operation True Promise 3

Public Relations of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC):

  • To the noble Iranian nation, a new wave of air-to-air missile attacks by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has just begun, more powerful and destructive than before.
  • In this operation, the command and control systems of the brutal Zionist regime, using modern methods and leveraging the capabilities of information equipment enhanced by the martyrs Bagheri, Salami, Hajizadeh, and other martyrs of the IRGC Aerospace Force, were able to disrupt the enemy’s multi-layered defense systems, such that the regime’s defense systems targeted each other.
  • The initiatives and capabilities employed in this operation, despite comprehensive support from the United States and Western powers and the possession of the latest and most advanced defense technology, led to the maximum number of missile strikes on targets in the occupied territories.
  • Today, we are witnessing the fulfillment of the sincere promises of Martyrs Baqeri, Salami, and Hajizadeh, who repeatedly declared that Operation Sadiq 3 and future operations would be more destructive, more precise, and more devastating than previous operations.
  • This operation also demonstrated that the calculations and assessments of the aggressive Zionist enemy and the Americans against Islamic Iran were completely wrong, and now we must witness the collapse of the occupying Zionist regime.
  • Supporters of this criminal regime must also know that effective, targeted, and more destructive operations against the vital targets of this false regime will continue until its complete destruction.

Victory comes only from God, the Almighty, the All-Wise.

In this regard, despite everything, we suggest that the Kiev authorities resume negotiations, which they interrupted at the end of 2022, and resume direct negotiations. And, I emphasize, without any preconditions. We suggest starting immediately next Thursday, May 15, in Istanbul, where they were held earlier and where they were interrupted.

—

Vladimir Putin: Good evening, or maybe good night already. I want to greet everyone. Dear ladies and gentlemen, Dear colleagues! I would like to once again congratulate all of you on the Great Victory Day! I would like to thank our friends and foreign partners who have been with us in Moscow these days at the anniversary celebrations to bow to the generation of winners.

We honor all those who contributed to the common victory over Nazism, including our allies in the anti-Hitler coalition, Chinese soldiers, participants in the anti-Fascist resistance in Europe, fighters of the people‘s liberation movements in Africa, the Asia–Pacific region, and volunteers from Latin America. Together with our friends and like-minded people, we share a common memory and respect for history, for the heroic deeds of true heroes who fought for freedom, and of course, our responsibility for the future, for building a more just and safer world.

The issues that directly affect the stable, sustainable development of the entire world community – Eurasia and other regions of the world – were at the center of the bilateral and multilateral meetings held in Moscow. Of course, they were held in a special, solemn, festive atmosphere, but at the same time they were extremely rich and informative, filled with topics of the political, economic and humanitarian agenda.

Summing up, and I would like to do this now, I would say that in four days, from May 7 to May 10, we hosted official visits by the leaders of three foreign countries: the People‘s Republic of China, the Venezuelan Bolivarian Republic and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. In addition, 20 bilateral meetings were held with the heads of the CIS countries, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Latin America. In total, 27 heads of state from the CIS, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, as well as about 10 heads of international organizations took part in the celebrations. Six more countries were represented at a high level.

We see such a wide participation of delegations from foreign countries and international organizations as inspiring evidence of genuine consolidation around the enduring ideas and values of our common Great Victory. We are grateful to the leaders of 13 States who sent units of the national armed forces to participate in the parade on Red Square. Their march shoulder to shoulder with our parade squads filled the common holiday with special energy and the spirit of military brotherhood, tempered during the Second World War.

I was pleased to personally thank the military leaders of the Korean People‘s Army and convey my warmest words to the soldiers and commanders of the special forces units of the Democratic People‘s Republic of Korea, who, together with our soldiers, professionally, and I want to emphasize this, faithfully performed their tasks during the liberation of the border areas of the Kursk region from the Kiev regime. I would like to emphasize that they showed courage and heroism, acted – I want to say this again – in the highest degree professionally, showed good training and preparation.

And of course, it was a special honor for all the leaders of the states to welcome the main heroes of the Victory anniversary to the stands – veterans of the Second World War from Russia, Israel, Armenia, and Mongolia. I would like to note that, despite threats, blackmail, and obstacles, including the closure of airspace, the leaders of several European countries came to Moscow: Serbia, Slovakia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. I repeat: we understand the massive pressure they faced, and therefore we sincerely appreciate their political courage, firm moral position, and decision to share the holiday with us, to pay tribute to the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and World War II, who fought for their fatherland and for getting rid of the brown plague of the whole world, of all mankind, without any exaggeration.

It is important for us that millions of Europeans, the leaders of countries that pursue sovereign policies, remember this. This inspires us with optimism and hope that sooner or later, based on the lessons of history and the opinion of our peoples, we will begin to move towards restoring constructive relations with the States of Europe. Including those who today still do not abandon anti-Russian rhetoric and clearly aggressive actions against us. They are still trying – we can see it right these days – to talk to us, in fact, in a boorish manner and with the help of ultimatums.

Our comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation with the People‘s Republic of China can serve as a true example of modern equal relations in the 21st century. Chinese President Xi Jinping was the main guest of the celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. We had extremely fruitful negotiations, adopted two joint statements at the level of heads of State, and signed a number of intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements covering such areas as energy, trade, finance, science, culture, and more. As I have already said, it has been agreed that my official return visit to China will take place in September to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory over militaristic Japan. It is deeply symbolic and natural that the main, in fact, the main commemorative events related to the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe and Asia will be held in Moscow and Beijing, in the capitals of states whose peoples have gone through the hardest trials and paid the highest price in the name of common Victory.

Dear colleagues, I think it is obvious to everyone that during the negotiations and meetings held in Moscow, the issue of resolving the conflict in Ukraine was also raised. We are grateful to all our guests and our friends for the attention they pay to this conflict and for the efforts they are making to bring this conflict to an end. In this regard, I consider it necessary to focus on this topic separately.

In this regard, I would like to say that, as you know, Russia has repeatedly put forward initiatives for a ceasefire, but they have been repeatedly sabotaged by the Ukrainian side. Thus, the Kiev regime defiantly violated about 130 times the 30–day – I want to emphasize this – 30–day, from March 18 to April 17, moratorium on strikes on energy facilities, which was announced in accordance with our agreement with the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump. The Easter truce initiated by Russia was also not respected: the ceasefire regime was violated by Ukrainian forces almost five thousand times. Nevertheless, to celebrate Victory Day – and we consider this to be a holy holiday for us, as you can imagine, we have lost 27 million – we declared a truce for the third time on this holy holiday. At the same time, we also conveyed to those of our colleagues in the West who, in my opinion, are sincerely looking for ways to resolve our position on this issue, on the ceasefire on Victory Day, that in the future we do not exclude the possibility of extending the terms of this truce – but, of course, after analyzing what will happen in these few days. days, based on the results of how the Kiev regime will react to our proposal. And what do we see? What are these results? The Kiev authorities, as you can see for yourself, did not respond at all to our proposal for a cease–fire. Moreover, after the announcement of our proposal – and this happened, as you remember, on May 5 of this year – the Kiev authorities launched large-scale attacks from May 6-7. 524 unmanned aerial vehicles and a number of Western–made missiles participated in the strike, while 45 backup boats – unmanned boats – were used in the Black Sea. Actually, during these three days of the cease–fire that we announced – on the 8th, 9th and 10th – what you also saw from the media, in fact, from your reports, it was clear: during this time, five targeted attempts were made to attack the state border of the Russian Federation in in the area of the Kursk region and at the junction with the Belgorod region, precisely during the days of the ceasefire we announced. In addition, 36 more attacks were launched in other directions. All these attacks, including attempts to enter the territory of the Russian Federation in the Kursk region and the Belgorod region, were repulsed. Moreover, our military experts believe that they had no military significance, were conducted solely for political reasons, and the enemy suffered very heavy losses. As I said, the Kiev authorities not only rejected our proposal for a cease–fire, but also, as we all saw, tried to intimidate the leaders of the states gathered for the celebrations in Moscow.

You know, dear colleagues, when I met with colleagues here in Moscow, I had this thought. I’ll share with you: who were they trying to intimidate from those who came to Moscow to celebrate the Victory over Nazi Germany? Who were they trying to intimidate? After all, those who have come to us are leaders not by position, not by position, they are leaders by character, by their beliefs and by their willingness to defend their beliefs. And who was trying to intimidate them? Those who stand at attention in front of and salute and applaud former SS soldiers? And elevates to the rank of national heroes those who collaborated with Hitler during the Second World War? It seems to me that this is an attempt with obviously unsuitable means, and those who are trying to do this do not match the swing they themselves expect.

I repeat once again: we have repeatedly proposed steps towards a ceasefire. We have never refused to engage in dialogue with the Ukrainian side. Let me remind you once again: we did not interrupt the negotiations in 2022, the Ukrainian side did it.

As you know, Turkish colleagues have repeatedly offered their services in organizing such negotiations, and President Erdogan has done a lot to organize them. Let me remind you that as a result of these negotiations, a joint draft document was prepared, and it was initialed by the head of the Kiev negotiating group, but at the insistence of the West it was simply thrown into the trash.

Tomorrow we are scheduled to have a conversation with the President of Turkey, Mr. Erdogan. I would like to ask him to provide such an opportunity to hold talks in Turkey. I hope that he will confirm his desire to contribute to the search for peace in Ukraine. We are ready for serious negotiations with Ukraine. Their purpose is to eliminate the root causes of the conflict, to establish a long-term lasting peace in the historical perspective.

We do not rule out that during these negotiations it will be possible to agree on some new truces, on a new cease–fire. Moreover, a real truce that would be respected not only by Russia, but also by the Ukrainian side, would be the first step, I repeat, towards a long-term, sustainable peace, and not a prologue to the continuation of the armed conflict after the rearmament, resupply of the Armed Forces and the feverish digging of trenches and new strongholds. Who needs such a world? Our offer is, as they say, on the table. The decision now lies with the Ukrainian authorities and their supervisors, who, guided, it seems, by their personal political ambitions, rather than the interests of their peoples, want to continue the war with Russia at the hands of Ukrainian nationalists.

I repeat: Russia is ready to negotiate without any preconditions. Fighting and war are currently underway, and we propose to resume negotiations that were not interrupted by us. Well, what‘s wrong with that? Those who really want peace cannot but support this. At the same time, I would like to express my gratitude once again for the mediation services and efforts aimed at a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis undertaken by our foreign partners, including China, Brazil, Africa, the Middle East, and recently the new Administration of the United States of America.

In conclusion, I would like to once again thank everyone who shared with us the festive celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism. I am sure that the spirit of solidarity and harmony that united us in Moscow these days will continue to help us build fruitful cooperation and partnership in the name of progress, security and peace. I would also like to take this opportunity to note the tremendous role of journalists, representatives of global news agencies, TV channels, and the press who covered the anniversary events and the many-hour program of current negotiations and working meetings. Much has been done to ensure that people in different countries of the world experience the unique atmosphere of the current holidays in Moscow.

Of course, thank you for this meeting as well, as it is quite late and, of course, everyone is already tired. Thank you very much for your attention, because it‘s almost one-thirty in the morning, or even more than one-thirty in Moscow, I’m letting you go with God. Thank you very much for your attention. Goodbye.
